“Jealousy – 101”…Blog.

“Jealousy – 101”…Blog.

“He that dies with the most Toys… Wins!” Doesn’t that ‘really’ sound silly? In reality that is what much of life is all about. Whoever said that, didn’t realize… “What you Own, Owns You!” The more you have, the more you have ‘to take care of’. Of courses that kind of fantasy always has someone that gets caught in its trap. Remember when Cell Phones first came out? Only the very wealthy could afford them. Now they are so very common place, one can hardly find a “Public Phone”… anywhere any more.

*** (1Timothy 6:6-7-8) But godliness with contentment is great gain.
(1Tim 6:7) For we brought nothing into the world, and it is clear that we can carry nothing out.
(1Tim 6:8) But having food and clothing, we will be content.

*** (Proverbs 27:4-5-6) Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before envy?
(Pro 27:5) Open rebuke is better than secret love.
(Pro 27:6) Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

*** (Romans 7:7) What should we say, then? Is the law sinful? Of course not! In fact, I wouldn't have known sin if it had not been for the law. For I wouldn't have known what it means to covet if the law had not said, "You must not covet."

What is the ‘Root of Jealousy’…? Could it be as simple as… “Not Being Thankful?” We are constantly being ‘besieged’ with advertisements about this or that. In an hour of television programming, there is ‘over 20-minutes’ of advertizing. I often use the ‘mute button’ to block out the noise babbling. New this or that, better this or that… makes one ‘unthankful’ for what they now have. I find that… “Thankfulness for what we have”… will solve most of life’s problems. Remember we are “NOT” guaranteed, health, wealth or even continued gainful employment.

*** (James 1:17) Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning.

*** (Luke 14:28-29-30) For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he may have enough to finish it;
(Luke 14:29) lest perhaps, after he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish, all those seeing begin to mock him,
(Luke 14:30) saying, This man began to build and was not able to finish.

*** (Job 2:9-10) And his wife said to him, Do you still hold to your integrity? Curse God and die!
(Job 2:10) But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish ones speak. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

Did you notice… the ‘diamonds’ photo at the top of this Blog? If you are married or engaged… you have at one time, examined diamonds. No, the size and the quality of that diamond was not an evaluation of your mate’s love. “True Love” cannot be measured in diamond size, quality, clarity or carrot weight. It is simply what your fiancée could afford at the time. The real question is are you… “Thankful”… for the one you received or maybe even… ‘didn’t’ receive? Once again, can love be measured with gold or diamonds?

*** (1Thessaloninans 5:18) In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

… I cried because I had ‘no shoes’… then I saw a man that had ‘no feet!’

The Next Time… You are jealous, simply think about King Solomon. He had all the wealth, wisdom, fame and wives [700 wives + 300 concubines]… and He was “NOT Content!” Even with all his God given wisdom; he disobeyed the Word of the Lord… “Deuteronomy 17:14-to-20”. He built heathen temples for his wives, heathen gods; which caused Israel to sin for generations; long after his death. Even with all he had he was still jealous… for those things that meant ‘Nothing!’

*** (1Kings 11:3-4) And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And his wives turned away his heart.
(1Kin 11:4) For it happened when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods. And his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.

*** (Ecclesiastes 1:2) Vanity of vanities, says the preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.

*** (2Chronicles 1:14-15) And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen. And he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
(2Ch 1:15) And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem like stones, and he made cedar trees as plentiful as the sycamore trees in the valley.

When you think about ‘Wealth’… what do you think about? It is ‘not’ possessions, nor is it fame. It is not in the things we own, our investments and properties. It is ‘not’ in our families or our children either, as some may think. Our wealth, may I suggest… our “True Wealth”… is our relationship with God, through Christ Jesus, as we have been Born Again, by His Holy Spirit. That in itself… is the greatest wealth, above and beyond… anything here on earth!

*** (Luke 16:10-to-13) Whoever is faithful with very little is also faithful with a lot, and whoever is dishonest with very little is also dishonest with a lot.
(Luke 16:11) So if you have not been faithful with unrighteous riches, who will trust you with “TRUE RICHES?”
(Luke 16:12) And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to foreigners, who will give you what is your own?
(Luke 16:13) "No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches!"

*** (Psalms 25:14) The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will show them His covenant.

*** (Psalms 147:11) Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear Him, who hope in His mercy.

*** (Luke 17:10) So likewise you, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, “We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.”

What more can anyone say…? “Thankfulness” is the cure for the common problem of all mankind. Knowing God and realizing that ‘all’… comes from Him, will eliminate that “Green Eye of Jealousy”. On my birthday, my sister always buys me a “Lottery Ticket!” She knows that I do not gamble and always asks me, “Well Did you Win?” My reply is simply this… “No I did NOT”… God knows that I ‘cannot’… handle 50-million dollars! … LOL!

*** (Proverbs 30:7-8-9) I have asked two things from You; do not deny them before I die;

(Pro 30:8) remove far from me vanity and a lying word; give me neither poverty or riches; tear for me my portion of bread,
(Pro 30:9) lest I be full and deceive, and say, Who is Jehovah? Or lest I be poor, and steal, and violate the name of my God.

Thanks, In Christ Jesus, Roger / Jeremiah 33:3.
